Super Easy

Talk about an easy dinner....

So, the total meal was hot dogs (Hebrew Nationals of course), homemade fries, and cauliflower.

Here is the easy part....

I took 4 red potatoes...used my french fry cutter...finished in less then 2 minutes...that is right, I sliced 4 potatoes in less then 2 minutes.
Then I used a little oil to help with the browning (used the garlic infused oil) and then a little sprinkle of Smokey Applewood rub.

Then I put them on my large bar pan...cooked at 375.

Now, I put the hot dogs on the pan, and then put the cauliflower in a microwave steamer for 5 mins.

The microwave went off, done...then the hot dogs where done...then I took the fries out of the oven, done.

That is how super easy dinner was tonight...yummy (and my oldest asked for seconds on the fries).

Love is the Greatest

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless.

When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

Coins for Mika

We are doing a toddler cup drive.  It is super easy - I send you or give you a toddler cup.  You fill it with your spare change.  When it is full you either give it back to me or empty your change in a ziploc bag and start again.  When you are done, you send it back to me or, if you are local, I will come pick it up.  Every cent helps. Your spare change could help us bring her home.

Let me know if you would like a toddler cup.  Or maybe one for work and one for home?  I would be happy to get one to you.  You are welcome to use your own cup if you would prefer.  Please leave a comment if you would like one (you can put your email in it..It will not show up but I will get it and contact you).

If you think about it...

If you think about it...everyone who has excepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior is adopted.

Just something to think about

In the United States alone, 137 million people claim to be Christians of some denomination.  If only 1% of the Christians in this country adopted just ONE CHILD, 1.37 MILLION CHILDREN from abroad would have loving, Christian families to grow up in.  Of those 1.37 million, 1,869 of those children have DOWN SYNDROME.

Directions

Our oldest has a music program she is working on at church.  They handed fliers out a while go.  I kept hearing them talk about it when ever I would pick her up.  I thought they way they were talking about the program it was this weekend.  Well found the flier, looked at the time..and arrived at the church on time.  No one was there...then I looked again at the flier. Apparently we were early, by a month.  Seriously, this was the second time I have done this. On the plus side, I was able to stop and get milk and yogurt...at least the trip was not a complete waist  :o)

Check it out...

Ok...so, you did not think this entire blog was going to be all about adoption did you?

So, I bought this 4 months ago..and it took me this long to get it up on the wall. Thanks to Command strips, I was able to do it with no holes in the wall. I hope to fill this up one day. And yes, that is a horse shoe, that was actually metal for a half. Not all the marathons I have done have medals..still trying to figure out how to put those up.

Just a little fyi....

Some info for those that follow (or will follow) this blog.

We are unable to share where "Josie" is from, so please do not ask or imply, this could jeopardize everything, and that will not fly with me. Also, yes, she is special needs. She is a VERY special little girl and she needs our love <3 You do not need to know the specifics because God knows them.

I just wanted to get that out of the way.

From Jesus....
And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. Matthew 18:5

What do you think?

Made this up to ask churches to put in their bulletins and to leave at local business.

Help me help you!!

I am a Pampered Chef independent consultant. Now, it is hard for me to do my own fundraiser for our adoption...but here is the thing..I can do a fundraiser for your charity/organization which in turn helps me.

It can be done all on line and all you have to do it get the word out. I can make them for a full month. And, here is an even more cool thing...you can take advantage of the host special, this can then be auctioned off at a later date...which is more money for you and your fundraiser.

So, contact me on how I can help you...and together we can raise money.

We will have ALOT of papers to fill out and a few paper cuts on the way, but we hope at the end of this journey we bring home this sweet (and very cute I must say) little girl. We will have many frustrating days, weeks, months but with the help of family and friends this will not be to stressful.

So, spread the word...share the links...and help us bring our sweet little girl home :)

JOY!!

Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Psalm 100:2

My heart is filled with so much joy. I cant stop crying I am so happy. I just received an email that we are allowed to commit to our little girl on Reece's Rainbow. While this does not guarantee she is ours, since the country will not allow this until after our first visit, it does get us one step closer to her.

Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you. Psalms 9:10

Doing good...

Well, got a call from our social worker...yes, we officially now have a social worker. I will be sending in our required forms tomorrow and then we will make the first appointment. Oh, I am nervous and excited. I am so ready for this to get done so we can bring home our new little person(s). I am so happy we choose to go with the agency, it is a Christian agency so, I know that God will be in all of this study. And other then Michael getting tired of me asking for a few forms, he is ready for it also to be done. Having to answer a "few" questions about yourself is a little bit overwhelming but we know the end result and that is what pushes us to do it.

On a plus side

Even though we are having a few hurdles to jump through in one area, we are still proceeding. On a plus side, we are able to get two certified copies of our marriage license for free. That is $18 we do not have to spend...on top of that, we do not have to send in original certified copies of our birth certificates, which is another $75 that we do not have to spend. Then I found out I do not need a back ground check for 10 years..only 5...that is another $30 that was not spent. Oh..and the girls, also do not need certified copies of those birth certificates..that right, $50 more that did not have to be spent. Ya, things are going well.

Just need to get over this small speed bump and we will be golden...until we hit the next bump :)
