Centro Vida Construction Complete // HONDURAS

Please enjoy this video featuring Honduras' brand new multi-purpose building, Centro Vida, which includes assembly space as well as a large kitchen. This building is just part of the incredible work going on in Honduras to equip over 575 vulnerable children & young adults with not only the Gospel, but hope for a future!

It's exciting to see Centro Vida's completion on Plan Escalon's 25th anniversary of serving orphans and vulnerable children.

You Matter to Me // CHILD SPONSORSHIP

When choosing a sponsor child, Vicki noticed that Lesly was an older student, but in a younger grade. Vicki intentionally chose to sponsor Lesly, understanding that something had happened in her life to cause her to fall behind. She wanted Lesly to know she cared and believed in her.

Why older children?

Something to think about when people ask 'why adopt from ____?' Here is the answer for children in China. 

"Someone, I forget who, asked what happens when children in China age out. I asked a friend of mine who runs a foster home for SN children in China. This is what she said: " As far as what happens to kids it's pretty horrible. If they are a "normal" kid then then either live at school or are turned out on the street. Sometimes sold into Sex trade..etc. The special needs kids are either sold for sex or put into a insane asylum kind of place that the gvnmet puts elderly people in. It's not a good condition. The age out is 14 here. So it's pretty hard." (taken from Reece's Rainbow FB group) 

Currently, there are boys and girls listed on the aging out list of Lifeline: Wonderful Waiting Kids.  This is only one agency, each agency has a list, imagine if every agency that works in this country has that same number.  These children need to find a home. There are children with minor special needs..who if they are not adopted will end up in those asylums...dont let this happen. There are children who are "healthy" and yet they still wait, who will likely end up where no child should end up.

There is currently a young lady who is aging out, who is considered healthy, named "Nanette".  She has lost 2 forever families.  There is no reason why she is still waiting.  There is another young lady who has a very workable special need, "Sara".  There is a video that would make your heart melt.  There are not just girls, there are also boys who need a forever family.  There is a young man named "Sam" who is healthy and yet he still waits. Or what about "Caleb", who would thrive in a forever family.

Lifesong Farms Impact Lives

Lifesong Farms. Through the partnership and expertise from our friends at Plant Sciences, Inc., jobs have been created for in-county orphan caregivers and orphan graduates who are transitioning into adulthood. The goal of Lifesong Farms is to not only benefit these individuals with employment, but also to establish sustainable businesses to help fund on-going orphan care.

"OUR LIVES HAVE BEEN CHANGED..." // Zambia

Because of the faithful work of our 16 farm ladies, we have been able to grow and sell berries to local grocery stores. More important than the berries sales, it is exciting to provide employment opportunities for these women, many of them widows, who care for multiple children.

BERRIES SOLD IN GROCERIES // Ukraine

Strawberries from Lifesong Farms-Ukraine are now in 5 different grocery stores in the Kharkov area. Sergei (pictured) and Andrei, both Lifesong graduates, have done an excellent job heading up this project. It's been amazing to watch these two young men, once behind orphanage walls, grow in their relationship with Christ and develop the skills to become successful businessmen. We are thankful to give opportunities to not only these two young men, but over 100 graduates who are employed through Lifesong Farms and other opportunities.

WE HAVE LID!!!

 We are excited to announce we have LID!! we are moving forward..maybe at snail pace...but moving forward is better then standing still or going backwards. 

Now the count begins.  I have been told this is could be the longest wait in the process.  We hope that is not to long.

DTC

Our dossier is on its way to country, in adoption terms this is DTC.  We are now on country time.  This can take days and it can take weeks and even months for the next step.  We pray it takes closer to days and not months.  Thank you for all the prayer and support so many have given.  We are now with in 6-7 months of travel. So, we still need that prayer.
