Teachable moments

Life is filled with teachable moments. As we grow up we do things that will end with a negative out come, but we learn from those moments.  As we get older we do things with negative out comes, and we still learn.  We never really grow out of those teachable moments.  When we are young, our parents are those that teach us how to deal with situations and how to react when things to not go our ways.  But when we are older, God is our teacher.  He shows us the way to do things through others around us.  He shows us examples in His Word. 


Being a parent is not easy, having to do a teachable moment is just as hard on a parent as it is the child.  I was told that this is how God may feel when He is doing the same to us....although I dont think He gets gray hair during those moments.

“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.  Matthew 18:12-14

Big sister is helping bring little sister home

Our oldest (6) is wanting to help bring her little sister home.  So, she made bookmarks.  She wants to sell them right now, on the side walk, but it is gloomy and raining. I convinced her to sell them at a lemonade stand she will have later when it gets hot :)  I love her little heart.
